Sightseeing of the Island

To make our lives easy, I used the tour to see all sightseeing spots in Hawaii.
Enjoyed the view from the hill - you can see the diamond head and Honolulu city - a lot of high-rise buildings.
Next stop was one of the most famous TREEs (at least among Japanese). It is a sleeping tree, which I did no know and $400,000 out of their $600,000 yearly maintenance fee is paid by Hitachi - surprise...
After driving all the way to north - North Shore, where we had heavy downpours and could not do that much, we came to Dole's plantation site, where you can have tasty pineapple soft serve ice cream (sorry no picture). Outside of this complex, this unique (not painted but naturally colored) tree was found. The contrast with blue sky was very beautiful.

Stake Dinner

As Hawaii is still America, you have to eat something American. Stake should do this. This is a high-end chain and located in the Trump Tower hotel here in Waikiki. Instead of typical breads, they serve "popper" right out of the oven.
We shared one ribeye stake and this was my portion with some side dishes. This red wine reduction sauce was really good and it was a easy job to finish this "looks" big piece.
As I still have a jet-lag, I woke up a bit early right before the sun raise. It even seemed a bit mysterious. You can hear the waves all the time which is very calming even for the people like me growing up in the mountain.

Trip to Hawaii (one)

I am in Hawaii this week.
With a business class, it was a breath even though I came directly from Amsterdam which is 12 hours time difference.
Delta's business class was was better than I anticipated. Oh maybe because it was from Japan, where all the food was prepared.

Ramen Lunch

Feel like I only eat ramen, but as I was in East Village, no reason why not stop by one of many ramen places. It has been kind of booming in the city. Spicy Noodle in a cool shop.

Hair Cut in East Village

I am pretty much adjusted for American life, yet I am still having my hair cut by a Japanese girl.
A gorgeous summer day out.

Little More Comfortable

Summer is a good season if you don't have to pay a higher price by yourself... As they over sell the tickets, people like me are bumped up to the business class. A better food and more comfort.
