Opera Night

My friend, good to have a friend like him, is sharing the tickets for tonight's play. This is my first time to see the opera live. Exciting...

Short Trip

After tasting ice cream, we headed to the park near by. This water is feeding the city even though it did not look too clean to drink.

Friday Dinner

It has been a while since the last entry. Just not in the mood to do so till this weekend. There were at least TWO potatoes worth fries. No all made it though.

Let Me Pray

Let me pray for the people fighting against the recent earthquakes in Japan.
I wish my voice will each there.

Long Trip

We were on vacation for two weeks (one of the longest we had) till yesterday. We visited Thailand (Bangkok and Phuket) and Japan.
We enjoy the time in Thailand but both got sick and needed to adjust our plan during the stay. One of our favorite meals in Thailand was this deep fried fish we had at a "local" like a stand restaurant.
Another favorite was this green papaya salad at another road side restaurant. Even though we were not in a good shape, we were able to enjoy local food there.
After longer than expected stay in Thailand, finally we were in Japan but not in Tokyo this time (we needed to skip Tokyo). This is the view from the hotel we stayed - can you see the castle? It was a beautiful hotel and the view was stunning - all around you can see the mountains with snow.
As it was over "girl's day" - March 3rd, there was a special display at the lobby. It was so romantic and very cute.
We of course enjoyed some traditional Japanese food - Kaiseki Ryori, along with regional specialties - Miso Katsu, Miso Nikomi Udon and Nagoya Kochin (chicken).
While walking at the department store, their sweets display was so beautiful, I need to take a picture.
I thought it would be too long, but it turned out not too long... I could have stayed a few more days in Japan (in Tokyo) to meet my friends, whom we were not able to see this time.. Next time, maybe next year or so.
