First Lunch in Hawaii

Wanted to come here this time, and it was walkable distance from our hotel. Glad to come here today as they will be closed next three days.

SFO Lounge

Waiting for the flight to Lax and to Hawaii.  This lounge is better than the one at JFK.

Burger

I know I told you I don't eat meat, but you have to do this in the West Coast.
Drove 15 minutes for this. So good.

Healthy Breakfast

In the West Coast so naturally I wake up early.
Already hit the gym and now is the time for FOOD.
The last day of work for the year.

Snack Time

Love working in Silicon Valley area, actually Palo Alto, as they have free snacks and drinks.

Vietnamese in Palo Alto

Business trip to the west coast. Much warmer than NYC for sure. My favorite drive from SFO via 280.
After hitting the gum, I was in the mood for Vietnamese,  Pho.
Light but tasty.

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie

It is not a mainstream pie but it is something reminding me of BH, more specifically my old neighbor, Joan.
She moved out a few years ago, but a nicest active lady in her 80s.
Surprisingly the pie was good.

Exciting Day

Just sold my apartment in Brooklyn Heights.  This means that I am no longer BH residence.
I will be still NY residence but less time living here and more time traveling the world.
EXCITED!!!

Chicken Dish Today

I have been eating less meat these days not to control my consumption but I just don't like beef that much anymore.
GOBO in tomato sauce is something I would have thought to try but I am hooked up with this.

Ton-katsu in the City

Found this new place serving only cutlets. As good as a chain restaurant in Japan.

Mexican Lunch

Yesterday we went to the gym first and then the lunch at a Mexican restaurant
It is pretty rare for us to have Mexican food, but somehow we were in the mood.
Alcohol from lunch was a bit guilty but it was smooth like lime juice.

Breakfast for Lunch with B.

Three of us went to Teresa, a Polish restaurant in BH aiming to have breakfast for lunch.
I don't cook pancake home, so I tend to order it when I eat out for breakfast.
It is not just typical sausage but Kielbasa along side with it.
We talked about Berlin and Copenhagen where B. is heading to for a vacation next.

Fireworks

Not sure for what, but there were spectacular fireworks from the room.

Burn the Calories

If going to the gym means like this, I would not mind. But it does not mean I should eat as I desire either...

Brooklyn?

Did not know they have an outlet in Tokyo. Much nicer than the one in Park Slope Brooklyn.

Power Breakfast

One of the best selections this hotel has. I am for sure to ggo back for something sweet, including fruits.

Treats

The hotel delivered this tray to the room to welcome us, kind of. Just one of the benefits for staying at hotels so many nights.

Back in Tokyo

At our favorite hotel with this tower view. What not to like, right?

Sukiyaki Dinner

Eatery near by the hotel. It has been over 100 years in this business. We had a private room just for us. Memorable last meal in Hakodate.

Onuma Lake

30 minutes train ride from Hakodate. Lake with hundreds of small islands. Autumn color emphasizes the beauty of the lake.

Hakodate Highlights

It was not the best day in terms of the weather, but no rain.
Beautiful sites to observe the city.

Night in Hakodate

Unique burgers at a local joint. It is decorated with Christmas stuff. A bit creepy but fun.
This is ton-katsu burger and we also got Chinese chicken burger as well
Warehouse district to walk to burn some calories.

Cheers to Sendai

Yesterday before heading to dinner, we had a drink at the lobby. 26th floor gave us a nice view of the city.

Chinese in Sendai

They have their local dish, Mabo-Tofu over noodle. With other dishes our stomach was full after this.

Matsushima Islands

One of the most beautiful view spots in Japan. Gorgeous weather to enhance the beauty.

Sendai Now

You have to eat tongue in Sendai. Three different dishes using tongue.
🐂 tail soup was also delicious. Both ends of beef. Very interesting.

Tokyo Life

Ramen in Asagaya and Atom character on the building to promote the district. Very interesting.

Kyoto and Eel

Another trip to Japan. This time on vacation.
Started in Kyoto where I was able to see real Maiko-san,  a junior Geisha.
Stopped by at my sister's place for eel. Yummy.
Now a glass of wine in Tokyo.  Just started, and so far so good.

Indonesian Dinner

Ok, not really I cooked an Indonesian dish, but used store bought peanut sauce for grilled chicken.
I found a jar in Amsterdam.  They have as many types of peanut butter as in US so I thought that it has to be good.
With Montreal seasoning for grilling, it was pretty good.
With Kabocha soup.

Last Summer Treat

A quick drive to a small town just north of the city. A warm afternoon as September but still nice to sit under the shade. Three scoops perfect to share by two, at least by our standard.  Peanut butter cup was the best.

Anniversary Dinner

We usually go to Sushi Den on this day, but Japanese BBQ this year, as we will be in Japan in 4 weeks.
Never been at Gyu Kaku, bit it was pretty like Japan inside.
Too much meat for me who don't eat beef usually but yummy the dinner was.
