Dinner with Friends

I always make a time for friends. I am a big believer that maintaining friends requires a lot of efforts but it totally is worth it in the end.
I have been friend with them over 20 years, which is crazy. Enjoyed the conversations over good foods.

Grand Central Station

I think this station is one of the iconic buildings in NY. Beautifully restored, as I heard that it was very trashy 20 years ago. Not as busy as Shinjuku or Shibuya in Tokyo but it is the hub for many destinations.

Business Lanch In NY

Finally back in NYC after 4 weeks out of country including a trip to Japan. A fun lunch with my colleagues at a Japanese restaurant located in a Japanese hotel. A hidden jem as it is an authentic Japanese restaurant yet not that popular, not noisy. Now I need a nap.

Food in Tokyo

Enjoying the food in Japan. Soba noodle in Asakusa was so good.

Flight to Japan

A good thing happens some time. A long flight in the business class. KLM just finished the rehabilitation, so nicer seatings. On top, their food was managed under Okura's supervision. Not too bad 11 hours.

Gorgeous Sunday

It's really rare to have a blue sky throughout the day in winter, but today was one of the exceptions.
Still cold but nice day to walk around. Even day time seems longer than before.

Shopping and Classical Concert

January is a huge sale season in Amsterdam. Even though I didn't need anything, I could not pass this great opportunity. I went to my favorite store for a few items. Shopping is not for what you need but what you want to buy.
A classical music afterwards. They fulfilled a few cravings.

Korean and Pizza?

Home cooking for lunch by using the Kimchi we bought a few days ago. A combination of sesami oil, garlic and Kimchi instantly made this dish Korean.
Not so many places were open today or closed very early. Our dinner was pizza at newly opned this place right across from my apartment. A sophisticated topping made it very tasty slices.

Bean Salad

I don't recall I ate or cooked bean salads when I was in Japan, but it is a great easy dish to make. Satisfying yet low in calories.

Cleaning Up The Refrigerator

My winter off is almost over and we need to clean up the items we bought (don't ask why).
All the vegitables went to the soup and the Kimch has been consumed as fried rice.
Simple but we liked what we cooked. Bye  bye home cooking for a while.

Beef Stew

I have been making beef stew many times but I have to say this time was the best yet. No need to add anything to thicken the sauce.
Super tender meats. Maybe the trick was that we cooked yesterday...

Wine, Bread and...

Lazy afternoon after the gym, cleaning and all I needed to do.
Wine from the trip to Ithaca this summer and foie gras from Brussels. French says wine, bread and cheese but my combination is better, agree?
